Macbook Stand Buying Guide
If you use a MacBook daily for extended periods, you know how painful neck strain and backaches can be. Sitting at a desk for hours on end trying to hunch over your MacBook can cause long-term damage to your overall posture. That’s where MacBook stands come in! The benefits of using a MacBook stand include a more comfortable and ergonomic experience, improved better posture, and a less cluttered work desk.
Types of MacBook Stand
There are a few different types of MacBook stands available, including:
1. Desktop Stands
Desktop stands commonly come in masses and offer more extensive space for storage, which is excellent if you’re trying to declutter your desk. Desktop stands can feature extra ports such as USB ports and are often perfect for holding your MacBook charging cable.
2. Portable Stands
Portable MacBook stands are lightweight, foldable, and easy to slip into your backpacks, making them perfect for those who are always on the go. These stands are typically made of steel, aluminum and plastics, and generally have a lower price range than permanent stands.
3. Monitor Riser stands
If you prefer a more significant viewing screen or work a dual monitor system, monitor riser stands might be your best option. The monitor riser stands are often adjustable and perfect for MAC users who want to use their MacBook as their secondary display option.
Factors to Consider Before Buying a MacBook Stand
When purchasing a MacBook stand, you will consider your budget, your intended use, and ergonomics. Below are some essential factors that you need to put into consideration while selecting the best MacBook stand to meet your needs.
1. Adjustability
The best MacBook stand should allow you to adjust the height, angle, and distance of your display so that you can find a comfortable viewing angle. These adjustable options will allow you to prevent neck strain while working on your laptop for long hours.
2. Portability
Do you need to take your MacBook with you constantly? In that case, portability is an essential factor that should not be overlooked. The MacBook stand you choose should be lightweight, compact, and easy to carry around anywhere you go.
3. Materials & Durability
When it comes to selecting any electronic accessory, durability is a critical factor. The MacBook stand should be able to withstand regular usage and not break down in a short period. Always pick a stand made of quality materials like aluminum or hard plastic.
4. Compatibility
Before purchasing any MacBook stand, ensure it is compatible with your device. Avoid stands that may not be suitable for your MacBook model, because it may turn out to be an unnecessary loss of money.
5. Aesthetics
The design of your MacBook stand should match your personal style and taste. People have a different preference when it comes to design, so choose one that suits your all-around sensibility.
